This 6000 square foot retreat facility was once the female residence of the Christian Youth Home which closed in the summer of 2007.  The building is well suited for use as a scrapbooking or crafters retreat with four guestrooms to accommodate up to thirteen guests, a full basement for work space as well as a large dining room.  We have valets to carry all your loot down for you when you arrive and back up before you leave.  The air conditioned facility is comfortable and perfect for any time of year.  Check out our photo gallery at the bottom of this page.

Each guest will have their own single bed with a comfortable mattress dressed with soft sheets and cozy warm covers. Towels and washcloths are provided and there are hairdryers in each bathroom.

Premium package guests will be treated to five delicious meals including dinner on Friday, breakfast, lunch and dinner on Saturday and brunch on Sunday.  There will be unlimited snacks and drinks throughout the weekend. 

Each work station is outfitted with a six foot table, work light, adjustable office chair, cup holder and basket for scraps.  There is an Original Cricut machine with a variety of cartridges as well as  a Cricut Expressions.  A computer with photo printer, a Sizzix die cutting system and fonts, a Cropodile tool, several Creative Memories tools as well as a collection of stamps are available for use by all of our guests.   We proudly offer WIFI internet access for our digital scrapbooking friends.  For our guests who quilt, we have ironing boards, irons, large cutting table, and spray starch available.    The basement work area has a big screen TV, DVD/CD player, stereo, surround sound and plenty of CD’s and DVD’s to choose from.  Guests are invited to bring their favorite music and movies from home.

There are supplies available on site such as adhesive, paper, replacement blades and embellishments for purchase in case you run out or just need a little extra paper or item to finish off the project.   For those looking to shop the Indy area for additional scrapbooking supplies there are Archiver's, Joanna's Fabrics and  Michaels stores located in Castleton, just 25 minutes from the retreat  and Cord Camera is located a bit west of Castleton on 86th street.

New at The Creative Hideaway....Scrapbooking layout kits by Kristy Taylor with Project Scrapbook.  Kristy has put together some spectacular layouts.  These layouts are being sold at the retreat at very reasonable prices, usually $8-$12each.  You can check out Kristy's selection of layouts at www.projectscrapbook.net   If there is a particular layout you know that you would like to purchase, please let us know!  We will be sure that it is available upon your arrival.
